The food was FABulous! First meal- leg of lamb, potatoes, spinach, squash, salad, huge hunk of bread. It was delicious! However... When I was taking my breakfast to the captain's table the next morning, with no warning I got seasick as I pulled out my chair. I bolted for the door and made it to the stairwell. The entire crew (14 men, one woman, the cook) was ribbing me by lunch.
As we approached Tacoma, a pilot was brought out from land on this seriously nautical boat to steer us in. They matched our speed, and the pilot climbed up a loooong rope ladder (!) to come aboard. I recorded the entire process, and asked the pilot if his grandchildren had ever seen what he did for a living. When he said No, I sent him a DVD when we got back. Btw, he makes $10,000 every time he does this.
